About the Camp

Natural Wonders Camp for Girls

This camp is for girls entering into 4th through 8th grade, who wish to develop an interest in nature, science, and natural health and wellness, in a safe and engaging environment. This camp will be a magical and relaxing opportunity for girls to deepen their connection to nature, explore their artistic side, learn about their changing bodies, learn mindfulness and yoga practices, and learn how to be a great friend and how to navigate girl friendships. We will make snack and lunch together every day, so the girls will receive healthy food that nourishes their bodies, and they will get a chance to practice their kitchen skills.

The summer vegetable garden at school will be in peak harvest season, so every morning we will work in the garden and harvest vegetables to prepare and cook later in the day for lunch. Every day will feature a different blend of fruit salad for snack time or fresh smoothies, and something different for lunch, and a special dessert on Friday.  Monday will be a garden salad with chicken and fruit, Tuesday will be tacos, Wednesday will PB & J sandwiches and raisin carrot salad, Thursday is pesto pasta, and Friday will be homemade pizza, salad, and brownies. All food served will be organic, gluten free and dairy free. Any other allergy accommodations can be made, just let me know if your child has a specific food allergy or intolerance.

Every day there will be time for journaling, art, yoga, and time in nature. The girls will have the choice of learning to weave, watercolor, oil pastels, or hand building clay as their therapeutic art medium. This camp is a special camp. The girls will get lots of physical activity, but it will not be a high energy, over stimulating camp.  It will be a deeply restorative camp session where the girls will get to experience the benefits of slowing down and resetting their nervous system.

On Friday, mothers or female caregivers are invited to join us for lunch and our closing circle.
